How to Sleep Better


""I wish I slept better'

"If I could just get a good night's sleep!"

"I'm so tired today. I didn't sleep well last night"

"You look tired (insert your name here)"

"Are you OK (insert your name here!). You look really tiredl"

 

Any of these quotes sound familiar to you. Some you are sick of saying to others. Some you are sick of hearing.  "YES WORLD. I KNOW I LOOK TIRED....I AM!"

 

Well there is really only one person who can champion change in your sleep and that's you. The solution is the same as any other life problem we need to get on top of.

1. Recognise your sleep problems and identify them as major problems that you need to fix.

2. Own the problem. Quit looking for reasons or blame. The problem starts and stops with YOU

3.  Committ to resolving the problem. Not in a night or a week, but resolving it properly for the long term.

4. Break down the problem. How is your sleep poor? What are ALL the influencing factors and what can you do about all of them?

5. Develop a sleep attack plan specifically for you. Chances are it is not just a single problem to resolve. Combine all your solutions and strategies so you can really tackle your sleep problems head on and SEE results.

6. Stick with it. Fixing sleep problems is not a one night wonder. You need to be committed and consistent for weeks and weeks if you want to win this battle. You can't just turn on and off your sleep regime when you 'really need a sleep'. Fixing sleep is a lifelong program.

You really can do it. Åt the end of the day we all sleep in the beds we make. If you're not sleeping well then time to work hard at making your bed more comfortable!
