Sleep products that work!

International Customers

Sleep Major hails from Sydney Australia but we have a truly global family of amazing customers and friends; people loving our products from London to Spain to New York to Singapore and beyond. We have great international shipping rates and only use first class international couriers so our packages very rarely (i.e. never!) go missing. An average delivery time for international orders (from order to receipt) is only about 3 to 4 days.

Our website allows you to change the currency display so the prices actually make sense to you, although when the order is processed it is done in Australian dollars as we bank with an Australian bank. The cross rates from our bank are in general consistent with the displayed rates on our website. There may be a very small difference either way but it is negligible.

Even if you are not a customer, we love having you pop by to see what we're up to, follow our blog or join our Facebook community.

Important information regarding Customs, Taxes and Duties for international orders.

It is an unfortunate reality that some international orders can incur taxes and duties payable on delivery, as determined by the Customs agency within the destination country. We wish we could have more control over this but until we have a Terry Rich seat at the UN I don't think we'll have much luck seeking special consideration. If charges are deemed payable by the local Customs team usually they must be paid by the receiver of the goods before the goods are released for local delivery. Often Customs taxes and duties are based on the value of the goods being imported.

As above, we have no control over these charges and unfortunately cannot even estimate if any charges will be payable to Customs when the goods arrive. Customs rules and regulations vary greatly from country to country as does the degree to which they are enforced. To us it all seems to be a bit of pot luck really. Most international deliveries don't attract any Customs charges but from time to time they do. We can't see any patterns or formulas applied to what gets charged and what doesn't. The amounts are usually calculated on a set percentage of the value of the goods as estimated by Customs. The percentage depends on the destination countries tariffs and duties as they apply to the type of goods sent. In general these rates are usually somewhere between 2% and 10% of the goods value. This is not a set range, just our experience over many years of sending goods around the world.

If you are concerned about the chance of any Customs charges being applied to your order the only thing we can suggest is to get in contact with your local Customs authority, tell them the goods you are considering to buy and find out what Customs charges (if any) may be applied when the goods enter your market. Or you can just take your chances and see what happens with your first order. Knowing how much fun it would be contacting the Australia Customs Dept, I can see that taking a chance might be a much more attractive option for some.

Local product laws and regulations

We also like to remind our international customers that they are responsible for assuring that the product(s) ordered can be lawfully imported to the destination country for delivery. When ordering from www.sleepmajor.com, the recipient is the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country.

As Customs policies vary widely from country to country you should contact your local customs office for further information if you are unsure.
